Well, it happened. We were having too much fun to keep up the posting on our blog. But, we do have a lot of pictures to show for our fun experiences (although not all of our good times). I know pictures are more interesting than words so I'll work on uploading those soon. In the meantime, here's a quick summary of a few of our summer days with more to come later.
We took the train into Chicago again with Nathan's parents in early June. We stopped by the blues fest, viewed some abstract art, parks, fountains and Lake Michigan, and crammed 9 of us (our 8 plus the driver) into a regular-sized cab.
We visited Illinois' largest waterpark, which is about 4 minutes from our house, several times. Piper lost her 2nd bottom tooth after biting into a hotdog for lunch. The waterpark is a very cool place with lots of slides, water adventures, sand and a wave pool - fun for all ages.
Our first experience at a drive in movie theather was entertaining. We watched How to Train Your Dragon. The kids were in PJs in the back of the truck munching on popcorn and giggling. Nathan and I set up lawn chairs on the ground below. The 4th Shrek was the second movie of the evening but we were already pushing our limits. I think we arrived home around midnight.
Piper attended Bible school and taught the tribe all the songs. We still have concerts off the balcony and stairs in our home. Piper also played T-ball for the first time this summer. We made some major improvements from watching the ball roll by us to racing after every single hit all over the field. I think we finally got a handle on owning an "area" of the field. And, to say it was T-ball was a little misleading. I think after the first practice, they switched over to coach-pitch for these 4-6 year olds. She did great! And, the experience made our backyard ball games a little more competitive. It's nice to have a kid at the plate and three others on base. Good thing there are 4 bases for 4 kids!
OK, more later. Have a great day!
